REGISTERED NURSE: Pediatric Endocrinology

In the Pediatric Endocrine Clinic, the Registered Nurse is an active member of the Pediatric Endocrine team. The nurse would be responsible for diabetes education, growth hormone education and training, performing endocrine stimulation tests, endocrine phone calls and endocrine team projects. In General Pediatrics the nurse should be able to assist with the department needs for general nursing coverage and assist with new program development.
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Wisconsin Registered Nurse license. BLS/PALS certified. Diabetes Educator Certification Preferred. ADA certificaton requirements need to be obtained within six months of hire date. Minimum one year of Pediatric experience required. Must have ability to work with children that you need to teach painful procedures to. Background in diabetes education preferred.

Nurse Coordinator Research – Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
Nurse Researcher for NIH TrialNet Diabetes Type 1 study will be responsible for screening patients for eligibility, monitoring study patients, providing appropriate nursing services, reviewing and evaluating health status, lab findings and adverse reactions. Oversees accurate enrollment process, records and submits necessary paperwork to IRB. Works with TrialNet Site Coordinator, PIs and research team. Works within center on special research projects as assigned.
Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience, pediatrics preferred. Diabetes education and research experience strongly preferred. Excellent IV skills and B.S.N required.
