The Academic Education Scholarship was implemented as a means of helping PENS to meet its goal of advancing the art and science of pediatric endocrine nursing. PENS is committed to increasing the knowledge base and enhancing the professional development of nurses in the field of pediatric endocrinology. Education is one of several means of professional development, and PENS has provided the Academic Education Scholarship to help its members meet academic goals.

The Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society (PENS) Conference Reimbursement Award exists to enable pediatric endocrine nurses to advance their knowledge in the areas of endocrine and growth disorders, nursing research, and current issues in nursing. Scholarship recipients can submit for reimbursement of up to $1000 for any expenses related to their travel to the PENS conference. Recipients are responsible for making all their own travel, lodging, and registration arrangements.
